Business Intelligence and Data Analyst 2

Location: Aberdeen

Status: Full time (hybrid working)

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting complex data to provide actionable insights that drive business decisions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and develop BI solutions, dashboards, and reports to support strategic and operational goals.

Key responsibilities

Collect, process, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources to generate business insights.
Develop and maintain BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
Design and implement data models, ETL processes, and database queries to ensure accurate reporting and analytics.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and provide data-driven recommendations.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Perform ad-hoc analysis and data mining to support business strategies.
Work with IT teams to ensure data integrity, quality, and security.
Automate data processes and improve reporting efficiency.
Stay up to date with BI and analytics trends, tools, and best practices.

Required qualifications and skills

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related role.
Proficiency in BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.).
Strong experience in SQL for querying and data manipulation.
Knowledge of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience working with ERP, CRM, or cloud-based data platforms is a plus.

Preferred qualifications

Experience in predictive analytics and machine learning.
Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards.
