Alan was appointed as Managing Director of Core29 in April 2022 and is responsible for the implementation of a growth strategy aimed at supporting business transformation through digitalisation. Alan joined Core29 from his role as Director of Energy and Industry at Johnston Carmichael and has held various leadership and technical positions over a successful career spanning 32 years in the energy and finance sectors. He brings with him a wealth of industry experience and knowledge covering upstream operations, technology development and mergers and acquisitions. Alan is a graduate of Robert Gordon University where he received his Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Engineering. His connection to the university is retained as Chair of the RGU Alumni Council and Board Member of the RGU Foundation. Beyond these roles, Alan is also a member of various professional bodies which include Society of Underwater Technology (SUT), Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and Intervention and Coiled Tubing Association (ICoTA), and supports several industry awards as a judge, and various other industry and business corporate memberships – both local and national. In his spare time, Alan competes in extreme endurance races and has completed Marathon des Sables (across the Sahara), Cape Wrath Ultra (400km to the very north of Scotland), and The Spine (Britain’s Most Brutal race, occurring in the depth of Winter and covering the length of the Pennine Way, in England).

Craig is an experienced Power Platform professional and team lead with a focus on practical solutions and continuous improvement. With extensive experience across Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365, Craig has a strong track record of simplifying complex processes, improving governance, and enhancing the user experience. He leads the delivery of business solutions that replace fragmented manual processes with centralised applications, automated workflows, standardised data, and clearer reporting. His work combines hands-on development with technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, solution design, mentoring, and delivery oversight. Craig has delivered solutions across maintenance planning, risk management, service desk support, approvals, document management, data extraction, and operational reporting. His approach is grounded in solving the underlying business problem rather than simply digitising an existing process. He brings a practical, down-to-earth approach with a commitment to delivering measurable business value.

As a Business Intelligence Data Analyst at Core29, I’m passionate about transforming data into meaningful stories that help people make better decisions. I enjoy solving complex problems, uncovering insights, and turning data into clear, actionable information that creates real value. Before joining Core29, I worked within the Public Health Intelligence team in Newcastle, where I developed a strong analytical background using data to support evidence-based decision-making. I also hold a degree in Business Management from the University of Sunderland, giving me a blend of technical, analytical, and commercial understanding. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me on the football pitch. Whether I’m analyzing data or tackling a new challenge, I enjoy solving puzzles and finding creative solutions.

Alex is a Power Platform Developer at Core29 where he builds digital solutions that simplify processes and improve the way teams work. He joined the company in November 2025, and has focused on delivering applications and automations using Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate and Power Pages. With a broader technical background, including Power BI, Python, C# and Java, he enjoys combining low-code and traditional development to solve business challenges and deliver practical, user-focused solutions. He’s passionate about automation, continuous improvement and utilising technology to make everyday work more efficient.
